Ever had your future told?

Had my tarot cards read on Monday and she was SO accurate with every single detail - it was literally my life on a table (in card form  )

So........ do I act on what I've been told? Will I get struck down if I ignore her? lol

Have you (or anyone you know) had this sort of reading? Did they act on it? Did it shake them up to?

Seriously spooked!

 Jules x

Was there any way she could've worked out the details she knew from anything you'd told her? If not she may well be genuine and worth listening to,,,,

In all seriousness, I don't think I would like to know what my future holds in case it is seriously bad.

What else would you think about if you knew what was gonna happen to you?

I have had my cards read a few times and it has been very accurate. They have seen things about me that they could not possibly have known.

However, the accuracy is mainly about the past and present and who I am. I don't think any predictions have ever come true other than extremely vague ones anyway, because I think the future is not set. To be honest, I have found most readers don't say that much about the future as they do the past.

Very hard to foreacst the future, all one can really do is indicate the sort of options that might come up, but when they DO come up its up to the individual to choose the actual way they deal with those options. So to take a cliched example, one can forecast the arrival of a tall dark stranger, but its then up to the subject to decide how to react to and deal with that stranger. Thats where the element of shaping your own future comes in.
As an astrologer I can only show someone the paths that might be open to them and which might be a good option - I can't force them to follow those paths.

"Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so." - Douglas Adams.

There is no future, no past, only the present moment, right now. If you are focusing on anything else then you aren't really present in your own life.

"Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear but around in awareness." - James Thurber

Knob gags will follow.

There is a school of thought that it's all been determined anyway, we have no free will, we do what we have to do. There is no bad, no good, just stuff.

Anxiety and fear are functions of time, if time doesn't exist then you take this away.

I will leave it with Bill Hicks:

--------------------
The World is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round, and it has thrills and chills and is very brightly coloured, and it's very loud. And it's fun, for a while.

Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they've begun to question, 'Is this real, or is this just a ride?', and other people have remembered, and they've come back to us and they say 'Hey, don't worry. Don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.' and we KILL THOSE PEOPLE.

"Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride! SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account, and my family. This just has to be real."

It's just a ride.

But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that. You ever noticed that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter, because ... It's just a ride.

And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear wants you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead see all of us as one.

Here's what we can do to change the world right now, to a better ride:

Take all that money we spent on weapons and defence each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing, and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and WE CAN EXPLORE SPACE, TOGETHER, BOTH INNER AND OUTER, forever ... in peace.

That's cos trying to foretell your own future is a seriously bad idea! Rarely works, cos you can't be objective and your predictions are inevitably coloured by your own thoughts.

And I'm a cynic, who thinks the obvious reason for clairvoyants not being multimillionaires is not that the "aura won't let them personally benefit", but that they have no more knowledge of the future than the average person presented with a tearful old woman with a hopeful look in her eyes.

Hell, if you thought that you had any future seeing capability you wouldn't be making money the hard way, talking to the credulous in town halls and on 'fortune telling hotlines' - you'd be finding a way of getting past the celestial killjoy and land the jackpot; predict the winner of the 3:30,; spot facebook before the rise; and generally focus on the big picture rather than "you'll meet a tall dark stranger".

Actually, that would kind of make a good plot for a hollywood film. Fortune teller actually starts to have some success, and realises the best bet is to ditch the flim flam and go for the lottery win - but then attracts the attention of the 'celestial killjoy', who proceeds to try to top them in the most gruesome way possible.

Where's my agent?
