Entry Formalities and Tasks

Hi all,

We plan to enter Australia in the next 2-3 months, do the formalities and then come back. We plan to move permanently later on.

I would really appreacite if anyone can provide information on the following.

1. Tasks to be done upon entering (DL, TFN, etc)

2. Any port of entry required specifically (we have QLD and VIC sponsorships)

3. Do we need to take RRV?

4. Any resources for additional information

Thank you.

You can enter anywhere, not an issue. Don't need an RRV until you've been here five years but not taken citizenship and need to leave the country (more to it than that but not something you have to worry about). If you're not planning on staying this time round, don't bother doing any of the legal stuff. Leave it until you come back permanently.

Just have a holiday, check out some areas, relax. You could open a bank account but it's not necessary until you want to start sending money over between now and the permanent move. However with the current rates of exchange, I wouldn't bother.

Check out the Tips thread here, but not necessarily for this trip.

Thank you mod.

I want to buy an apartment during my trip. Hence, I guess I will have to open a bank account.
