Eating out on the mornington peninsula

Hi - any recommendations for good restaurants?

My in-law are arriving next week for two months and we are under orders to eat out and let them babysit as much as possible. Would be rude not to take them up on their offer!

We are in Safety Beach which has nothing in the way of restaurants so are planning to head to Mornington/Dromana etc .....

I'm not sure what your budget is but the wineries have very good restaurant options.

Very good value - Main Ridge $25 for set 3 course meal (plus wine!)
OK - Dromana Estate - pizzas etc for about $20 (plus wine!)
Good - T'Gallant - pizzas etc but better than Dromana about $20 (plus wine!)
Silver service - 10 Minutes by Tractor - $100 per head plus wine but divine!

There's many others I'm sure are very good - these are the ones I have sampled personally.

can vouch for pig and whistle, had nice fish and chips there and lovely pint of pigs arse!

The Rocks looks nice at the Mornington Harbour, lovely view but don't know if pricey or not.

Not checked out the others yet.

PM me Rach if you fancy meeting up anytime, we're just up the road at Mt Martha and be interested to discuss how Coolum compared to down here!

Hi

The Rocks is pretty pricey although Fish n Chips isn't too bad, sometimes we go there just for coffee, cake and the view!

All Smiles on Sorrento back beach is nice for lunch and has an amazing view, The Baths on the front beach is nice for dinner if you get a nice still evening.

Redhill Brewery is good and different to the wineries. Stillwater at Crittenden has lovely grounds but is more for a treat! Box Stallion is reasonably priced for a winery restaurant.

Lilo Cafe on Fishermans Beach in Mornington is a good little cafe and they do dinner on Fri and Sat nights as well.

If you love pizza then Gods Kitchen in Mornington is great, lots of unusual toppings.

If you like pancakes then Buckleys Chance in Sorrento does the best ever!

Boardwalk in Mt Martha is good for brekki, lunch and dinner.

We might try Haba in Mornington this week for my birthday outing as mmmmm fancy a steak!

Hope this helps, there are sooooo many places to eat on the Peninsula! You can spend a fortune in the wineries so check out the menu on line first.
