A&E - Perth Hospitals and docs?

Hello,

I hope some of you wont mind answering this please. As we are due to arrive in East Perth on 2nd July.
Stopping here:
http://www.regalapartments.com.au/in....rooms.53.html

* We should not need to use the hospitals, but I would like to know the nearest one just for peace of mind.

Its probably sounding barmy, but I have daughter with Epilepsy and its still not 100% controlled. So little worried what jet lag may do.

Also son has rare condition but stable. However knowing my sodding luck!:(

Anyway what is the nearest A&E and can you just turn up like in the UK.

How about docs in centre of Perth, if I need one for the kids? Im not living in Perth but staying for 2weeks.

Like I say hoping I wont see the glorious A&E departments and doctors. Im sure they are all super ;)

Any info appreciated, not expecting to use them. But would like info any way.

For East Perth your nearest emergency dept. would be Royal Perth. I went there once and was impressed by the standard of care. Doctors and nurses were generally all good (most were Poms too). You can just turn up. I would say that RPH is on a par with the NHS ie good.

I agree with Amazulu, RPH is nearest and has superb facilities. Princess Margaret (childrens hospital) is not far either.

Charles Gardiner (charlies) is close by as well, and generally you will wait less time to be seen there, as an adult if its non urgent.

For the kids take them to PMH in Subiaco if needed.

If your just on holidays, dont bother with a GP, go to PMH if they are sick.. The wait time there is generally good compared with the adult EDs.

The Docs are fine in all of the establishments, most are POMs or SAFs.

Have fun, sure you will be fine, just make sure you carry you medication in your hand lugguage and have a Drs letter, just incase.

Thanks everyone,
Fingers crossed I wont visit any doc and hospital while in Perth.

Will be in Perth for 2weeks, doing the sights and hubby has to do 3 day course.

Then its off along the WA coast to our new life! Eek!

Hi,
Royal Perth Hospital is defintley the closest and has a good A&E.

If you just need to see a Gp, then Central City Medical Centre is probably the best, closest and will be happy to see any temporary resident/tourist. They are located at the Cental Perth Train station.
Ph 0892214747 to make an appointment.

Enjoy your stay

So will be away from all BE regulars who are in Perth or nearby.
