Most opportune - just watched Let the Right One In and it is going onto that list

Admittedly it's quite a short list as I don't usually watch subtitled films ;)

I watched Scarface for the first time a few months back and I thought it was absolutely deplorable. Tacky mansion, tacky jacuzzi scene and tacky ending. Was he meant to be a top bloke? I must have missed that bit.

It was brilliant  remember it was made in the 80's (i think!) so the mansion is gonna look tacky, but come on, Tony Montana - cool dude, top bad guy, maybe it's a bad boy thing for women, but, i'd have had him

Hey, you need to adapt a "glass half full" attitude and realise that there are a lot of women out there who would be overjoyed about spending time with a man who can dispense cunnilingus standing up and without the woman having to lay down first?

Capiche?

Didn't realise this thread was about films.

Very tough to choose five. Here goes:

Jean de Florette/Manon des Sources (it was shot as one film but released as two)
The Godfather
Twelve Angry Men
Dr Strangelove
Cassablanca

Sort of following the theme of The Firm....depending on if one likes that genre.
Like European films myself and the more obscure the better.
Would rate in English...
The African Queen
Vertigo
Whiskey Galore
Brief Encounter
League Of Gentlemen
all oldies but amounst my favourite films
