Talking Doomster market set to fall in the 2nd half 2010

There's been a definite fall off in the doomster market as predicted cataclysms fail to eventuate.

No Australians have been hurt so we'll move swiftly onto AFL news.

Is that because the charts show they've passed a line of resistance?

If you want to see a prediction of economic/financial doom;look up Hindenburg omen on wikipedia;its also on several financial sites. It has a high degree of reliability.

I take it that the 12 August signal is not valid unless another 2 signals occur before 12 July. It'll be interesting to see what happens on this one.

Question Re: Doomster market set to fall in the 2nd half 2010

Yes--this appears to be the case.Interestingly other signs seem to be pointing in that direction[very slow growth in various economies etc].Have a look at zerohedge.com---written by a man who I think has considerable credibility. My worry is that there will be a down turn[possibly fairly severe and gov't world wide will indulge in QE,which will lead to a bout of serious inflation and stagflation.Hope you are keeping well--enjoy the read!!!!

well that was an interesting read. I particularly liked this bit:

Because of the very specific and seemingly random nature of the Hindenburg Omen criteria, it is possible that this phenomenon is simply a case of overfitting. That is, if one backtests through a large data set and tries enough different variables, eventually correlations are bound to be found that don't really have any predictive significance.

Markets go up again
Markets go down again
etc

Hindenburg omen? What a load of bollocks.

Question Re: Doomster market set to fall in the 2nd half 2010

If you want to see a housing doomster;rather than a general downturn theory look up Michael Pascoe in the SMH today---he is precising a Morgan Stanley report on Australian housing[I think it may be on another post here dedicated to housing]
