Default Donation of furniture items?

Does anyone know where I can donate some furniture? I know it could go to Vinnies, but it will just get sold through their shops. I would rather stuff went directly to people who need it right now.

I have beds, tables, chairs, curtains, a 3 piece suite etc

Thanks

Love

Rudi

Sadly "stuff" is hard for the organizations to manage and cash is so much better - I know that isnt what you want but it really is more useful. Organizations like Vinnies, the Salvos, Lifeline etc just dont have the storage capacity (and they do hand out directly to the disaster affected not just flog stuff in their shops) to cope with everyone's generosity.

Rudi, another option would be for you to travel to a flood affected area, and speak to the residents. They will most likely know of families who need this kind of assistance. Perhaps the people you speak to will need it themselves.

You could provide them with your phone number. When their house is clean and you receive the call, the furniture will be ready for them.

Best of luck.
