dogs-rant-sorry!!!

I love our dogs, they're very cute and all that but they are starting to seriously p**s me off.

I've had a lot on my plate lately so to try and cheer me up I've booked a weekend in London with my middle daughter. We went into town today and I bought a new pair of trousers, top and pair of shoes to take.

Was sat here merrily watching tv and piddling about on the computer. I've just gone out to get a glass of wine and what do you think I found in the dog bed? One of my f@*$@g new shoes, minus half the heel. Little buggers :curse:.

They only cost £25 but not the point. Now I haven't even got any shoes to go with my trousers. I wouldn't care but they were right next to my slippers.

It's times like this you could do with a man around to treat you to another pair  (only joking;))

We could turn this into a naughty pets thread

My cat Gordon can beat your shoe episode.:p

he has destroyed the following:

chewed hundreds of pounds worth of towels - really he has, you should see them.

He has pulled up the carpet,

shredded the wallpaper,

flooded the bathroom,

Chewed my GHD hair straighteners,

eaten through 2 telephone lines,

chewed through 4 Nokia phone chargers

Has a sock fettish - takes them off the clothes airer, hides them under the bed and chews them.

Regularly knocks his biscuit tub onto the floor if we are late feeding him.

Has a toy box filled to the top with mice, feathers, balls etc and still prefers to run around the flat with biro pens in his mouth for you to throw and him to retrieve.

Animals - naughty but we love them.

mine have ate several shoes (not normally new ones)

socks, you can never find a pair because they ALWAYS pinch them, I dont know where theymanage to get them from half the time.

Have eaten through the phone line, whilst I was on nights so I ended up coming home because I was worried as the phone was ringing and nobody was answering, I was worried sick as I thought there'd been a fire or something!

At christmas, my brother was in the back garden having a cigarette, came in and said to look at big dogs nose, she had cream on it. My brother had looked through the kitchen window and clocked her eating the blackforest gateau that was on the side

I came home one day to fingd they had been having a party with my post. They'd shredded my cheque book that had been posted from Australia! as well as chewing their way through 2 DVDs that I'd had delivered for which I had to pay £40 to replace.

The list is endless. Why the hell I'm paying nearly £4,000 to ship the little bleeders to Oz is beyond me.

It's a good job they're cute

I know it is a good job as well. My Gordon is the epitome of cuteness and his needs are basic - towels, socks and the occasional pair of knickers.

And to think I shall be coughing up 40 quid for his booster next month, plus some frontline flea spray - not to mention enough expensive worming tablets to cope with his 7kg weight.

Well, our dogs have never really done any serious damage.
Charlie has a thing about used socks, he will be waiting for you to take a pair off and as soon as you do he grabs one, and runs around with it, under the bed, into the bathroom and then god knows where! In our last house while gardening it was commonplace to dig up a sock! Charlie loves being in a dark place, under a duvet, under the sofa, and god help you if you close a cupboard door without checking to see if he has climbed in. Today i was tidying out one of the cupboards in my laundry and therehe was sat beside the washing powder! Very cute!

As for Oscar, well we are convinced he has autism as he just doesnt get how to be a dog. He brings in birds, mice... the occasional rabbit or frog! He snores while sleeping. When ever Charie runs anywhere you can always see Oscar running behind chasing Charlie's tail!

If he's a boxer I think they are renowned for such behaviour:D

The culprit who chomped my shoe is a chihuahua. I should have known, I tried them on in the house for a bit to wear them in and he kept coming over and sniffing the shoes and giving them a littlel lick. I can picture what was going through his little mind now, "mmm, I like those I think I'll have a chomp on them later"

It's my fault really, I shouldn't have left them lying around, I try to be careful normally. He pinched all of the insoles out of my daughters shoes once, she didn't find that so funny as she found him eating my shoe.

had two pairs of M&S suede boots which I loved (so much I brought two pair) Effie, our dalmation, ate one .... then a week later ate another one.... lwaving me with two left boots intact.... then she ate a pair of my then 10 year olds knicker... and they did for her.... she had to have surgery as they tangled up inside her...

She is the worlds biggest thief and will take the food off your fork mid mouthful without you seeing it happpen... she can open the front door and nothing is safe in cuboards at ground level...

She steals the childrens cuddly toys and buries them.... they turn up months later covered in dirt...

Effie will being staying here in the uk with the parents because she is 10, she is very nervous of loud noises so I believe the flight would traumatise her too much... and anyway she is very happy where she is... we are taking their grandchildren to the other side of the world, to take their favourite dog would be too much

Sounds just like ours

The big dog can open the doors. When they are in the garden, she often lets herself in and leaves the little one in the garden. I've just had to go and rescue him again. You hear him yapping, then when you go and look big'uns sunning herself in the conservatory and he's out getting blown about by the wind  I'm sure she does it on purpose.

She's also VERY greedy. She pinches he chocolates off the christmas tree and nicks anything lying about. This morning I have founf 2 empty ketchup cartons (the remnants of sons mcdonalds last night) they were unopened on the kitchen side!!

My son went to a party at Easter and he got a box of 8 creme eggs, he had one and give his sister one. I'd just got in from work when he came in from playing out. He went to get his creme eggs and they'd all gone,. She'd pinched them off the top of the fire surround. There was little bits of foil all over:frown:

She has also done the knickers thing, kids took her for a walk and when they picked up her mess there was a red thing in the bag. Concerned they brought it home (thanks ) it turned out to be one of the kids undies . Now after hearing your story I'm just glad she didnt have to have surgery

When I think about it they've cost me a fortune in their time. What with kids and dogs I'll never be rich

We have Mini Fox Terrier with a liking for quilt covers or if ds is silly enough to leave them lying around teddies especially the ears i only own one quilt cover now which doesn't have holes in it and that is only bvecause we have been shutting all the bedroom doors next rental i move into is going to be a double story so that i can put up a stairgate to stop the little cow getting upstairs. Forgot to add the time she ate a load of water balloons luckily because they were so small she passed them without any complications but rather strange when collecting her poo found loads of coloured rubber plus if ds has balloons kirra will burst them then try to eat the rubber needless to say ds does not have balloons in the house very often.
