Well, I asked on an internet forum, and they assured me that UK pillow cases weren't compatible with Aussie pillows.

Anyway, I can't comment on the pillow biting thing, Mrs JTL takes care of all that. She seems to be biting pillows alot, she must change pillow covers alot.
