Do airlines still do migrant packages?

HI Guys,

Read somewhere a while ago that they did packages for migrants, allowing alot of extra luggage for a fixed price. Do they still do this? did they ever?

just wondering as we are taking very little.

thanks in advance

No although if unvalidated, you can get extra baggage with Singapore and maybe Emirates. A few airlines used to do a migrant fare but it wasn't a bargain once you factored in what you would have paid for extra baggage.

There is a company that offer cheap flights for migrants that is offered in the paperwork when you get your visa. Some on here have used them and thought it was great. Others found that unless you were prepared to use the airline and the date they offered, you couldn't use them.

Do any of the U.S.-based airlines offer extra luggage allowance? Tried Air Canada, to no avail, but would consider flying from the States if this was offered.

We are flying Air New Zealand via LA to Melbourne and they give you 46 kgs (2 x 23/kgs) each passenger. Their seat pitch is also bigger at 34" rather than 32" like most of the others. You do, however, have to touch down in New Zealand before carrying on to Australia.
