Did you get up to watch the 4.30am Games.
Just thought I'd check something out. I wonder how many people actually did get up and watch the games at 4.30am. I've just decided that I'll go to work on Thursday and watch bits of the Aussie game on a Optus Mobile whilst working. Reason being I get hardly any enjoyment, no matter how good the game out of watching football at that ungodly hour. If it turns out that Aus do get through then I'll happily watch the replay intently as soon as I get home. (BTW I'm taking tonight off instead lol)
So just a poll to see who recorded and who actually watched the 4.30 am games.

Last World Cup I scheduled a Hernia operation and got 4 weeks off post med. Brilliant it was. This time around I was going to have an Eye Op, but I Chickened out mostly because it was under local rather than General anesthetic. Could have easily got 2 weeks off post med for that.
Next time around, I think I'll just take holidays lol.

You missed my choice - No, decided the inside of my eyelids to be more interesting.
Have there been any really good games yet? Has anyone thought 'wow really pleased I didn't miss that match'? All the ones I've caught have been less than impressive so far.

Where's the option for "I've been on night shifts so was up anyway, AND got paid while watching them"

Just took full advantage in being able to schedule ops via Private Insurance. Definitely needed the Hernia Op. I actually waited over a year
As for tonight the Wife is on a Course at Apollo Bay... did consider leaving the 16 yo in charge but changed my mind..... mainly because I decided it wasnt worth taking Thursday off ... So you've more or less got me there. They wouldnt let us take the World Cup off for a holiday anyway... unless we gave them something like 6 months notice. No way could I ever take advantage of cheap flights at a few weeks notice in our job.... They would always say no, to short notification holidays. Whereas you never ever get grief over Sickies.
I've got something like 9 months worth of Sickies that I'm able to take. I havent been that bad in the 14 years I've been with Apost. As my fellow employees say... 'You cant cash them in when you leave'.
Might take advantage of tonights night off and hopefully watch a freak result between Italy and NZ.

Yes. It's been painful - up for the 4.30am game, then going to work, then watching the later games as well if I can.
There has not been enough hours in the day recently for football, going to work and sleep. Sleep has missed out.
Thank God I've got a day off tomorrow, I've been totally knackered at work this weekend. (But I've been looking forward to the WC for ages and just can't bring myself to not watch the England, and Australia games live....)
