Next week when the clocks change again, in Melbourne and Sydney the difference will be 9 hours.

Tis Paulry it's a pain in the ass! There's no daylight savings here in QLD either and that's even worse!

Not really. No different from time zones across Europe. I use the Mozilla world clocks and have the three I need on the bottom of the screen all the time.
