Re: dentists and medicare
You can claim for most teenagers, for a single visit, up to about $150 per year, under the Medicare Teen Dental Plan.

You should have a voucher for that though. Don't know if you can do it without the piece of paper

Hubby just had five zirconium crowns on his teeth ($440 each), plus cleaning and root canal in Dubai - total cost -A$2400....would have cost him half that in India. |

Isn't there a school dental bus as well?
Some of them only do a check up, then refer you to a normal dentist for any work, some, I think, also do basic fillings etc. |

Thats not much dearer than in Ireland, I don't know the comparison with the 535, but getting a tooth removed is about the same price over here |
Re: dentists and medicare
I took out 'extras' as part of my medical insurance for an additional $5 a week.
I went to the dentist - for the first time in about 10 years last month. I was so thankful to have the insurance. The initial consultation plus three tooth xrays came to about $270 in total however knocking off the insurance contribution I only paid $30 which was towards the xrays. I had to go back for three fillings. They came to $360 although the insurance paid $240 of that |
