Decent teabags

Re: Decent teabags
Which is the strongest tea? Say, equivalent to Yorkshire tea/Punjana, you know, the ones you can stand your spoon up in! Hubby's away to Melbourne next week on business and misses his strong tea in a morning when he's there!
Just to add he'll be in the CBD so one of the central shops would be fine!

There are some things I won't compromise on and tea is one of them. I buy PG tips from the English shop and would pay double what they cost. I think I pay about $30 for a box of 240. I tried all the tea in china here and they were all shite so expensive PG it is.

When I don't have any of Yorkshire's finest I drink Lipton Intense which you can get anywhere.
Agree with NB....tried all the local favourites and they were horrible!

I second that - we had some PG tips given to daughter for her 18th (strange pressie I know) - but I wouldn't touch them now - use the Dilmah extra strong

Twinings Irish Breakfast is a nice strong cuppa, sold in all the main supermarkets next shelf to English Breakfast.

Re: Decent teabags
I would recommend Dilmah Extra Strong or anything that is marketed as extra strong or a British blend - all other tea here is just dust in a bag!!

I came to the same conclusion as you. I also was a PG Tips girl in the UK and of the reasonably priced teas I have settled on Tetley's all rounder teabag as the best. I sometimes contemplate a bit of devilment think about treating myself to a tiny little box of PG Tips that I've seen stocked at Woolworths but then I have a mean moment (I blame my scottish mum ) and I settled for Tetleys.

Thanks for the advice! He's going to head down to David Jones for some Yorkshire Teabags. When we move over, we'll do some proper tea tasting!
