Dashboard carpet

Its rife here in Aus ... aussies like to fit carpet over the dashboard :blink: wtf !?!?!

Makes me chortle whenever i see it :D

Funny isn't it. I think it's because sometimes dashboards can crack when the car gets really hot, so the carpet is there to stop that. Looks shit though :lol:

Its a very odd hablt isn't it, bits of tacky looking carpet stuck on with superglue, but apparently its a real status symbol in the car world :confused:

oooh.. my friends in Perth have this! I was a bit intrigued when i first saw it.. thought it was very 1982!

She told me that the dash gets way too hot otherwise...

I'm going to put artificial grass on mine. I've got a flower sitting up there now, so some grass should look lovely.

Good time to also warn people about not leaving animals or children in the car - even for a moment with the windows up.

It's not really an Aussie thing, I think you'll find that most normal people would consider it a pretty 'bogan' thing to do.
