The dark, damp, dreary, dismal, UK winter weather has started...

Been raining for two days now. It's dark still at 7am and the clocks go back soon.

I'm not looking forward to the next seven months of gloomy, cold weather.

I really hope its the last winter for us! :fingerscrossed:

Oh come on, it's not that bad! A few hours of gentle rain, a mild chill in the air, and slightly shorter days. Nothing to worry about.

I find the cold weather quite bracing.

:)

Been like that in Perth for ages. Think they only just starting to see sunshine at last.
Still warm where i live, only rained once in yonks, but i don't mind winter. Doesn't last long.

You do know OZ has winters don't you?

Vash, you are right, I'm being a over reactive! :o

It's just that my (English) colleagues started the gloom speak today at work. I'm quite happy to see the rain, as it has been very dry for ages, and my garden really needs it.

I'm just not looking forward to the many dark months ahead.

Oh come on folks  :D

September was beautiful down here - lots of sun and not a drop of rain.
It's been raining for the past 2 days, and is pretty miserable I agree, but it's not like we've had weeks of it.
Sunshine forecast here for tomorrow

Yep, I sure do. Southern hemisphere winters are short lived though. I grew up in Southern Africa (the same latitudes as Oz), so I'm am familiar with the climate(s) over there.

Oh come on:rolleyes: Ive looked at UK's weather daily for the last 2 months and its rarely got below 20 degrees, even yesterday it was 17ish.

And 7 months of gloomy weather? last time we were in UK it was dec and jan, plenty of sunny days and plenty of days hovering around 12 degrees, which mid winter is hardly the sort of temp extremes your gonna get in places like Australia  or Canada.

Maybe you would prefer storms that rain dust:rofl: with your cup of tea.

And it's the school holidays here in Sydney and guess what? It's cold (and our heating has decided not to work!) and has rained for most of the last week. The winter duvet came back out of the cupboard last night after I foolishly put it away a couple of weeks ago!
The sun is shining this morning though. I wonder if it'll last today.........?

I think apr - sept ( and early oct this year ) are much nicer than summer. Warm but not hot/wet/humid like summer can be.

But we got our first summer storm yesterday:thumbsup:, well 2 actually, real rain, not dust like the last storm, so really lovely to see the wet stuff, already the garden looks greener!

This morning is great, really cool, clear and fresh, like a winters day, unusual for october.
