Re: Cyclone Season......Queensland - TC Ului
The CM/ Cairns Post had a small typ0 (that didnt amount to much ) in the breaking news release today, placing the cyclone out in the Atlantic somewhere. Too much media sensationalism. The ABC weather report hardly mentioned it.

The Atlantic? thats original! You mean I spent 10 minutes trying to get the big screen in the office to work and now I'm looking at the wrong ocean?

Re: Cyclone Season......Queensland - TC Ului
I'll hazard a guess that she will catch a lot of people out, especially if she makes land in the southern half of the coast. Even the northern part of the coast has had a quiet season though, so there will probably be a fair few caught out as regards cyclone kits etc.
Looking at the predicted tracks, I wouldn't like to put too firm a guess on the evntual landfall, but Mackay is looking increasingly likely if she stays on course as predicted at present.
Its so far from an exact science though, anything could happen yet - even a 180 and away from the coast altogether........

Thanks for the updates, Pol. We have offices in the Pacific Islands so I keep an eye on things; the Islanders are already suffering http://www.fijitimes.com/story.aspx?id=142263
