Curry

Hi, my hubby and I migrated out here in Nov 07 and have been on the hunt for a good curry since.

We're in Rosanna, and have been looking for a good indian takeaway around rosanna, greensborough and eltham. But have had no luck so far.

Does anyone know any good indian take aways? the one we tried last night in Ivanhoe was dire!

Thanks

Ginger Spice up here in Eltham is supposed to be one of the better in the area although I am not a great fan.

Bhoj in Templestow is good but the one in the Docklands is dire.

If you're willing to travel then I can recommend this one
http://www.curryclubcafe.com.au/

I can also recommend the Kasturi on Beach St in Frankston for anyone who lives down this way.

The other one begins with Macharian (?) I actually prefer. Staff lovely, real family owner feel, I think they may be Goan (?). They actually have some SPICY dishes!!!!

OK it's been a while since we had a Melbourne curry night.

I think it's time for another one but as I've organised the last two would someone else like to recommend a restaurant and make the reservations?

Then why don't you organise one in Eltham? I'd like an excuse to see it again (and meet you) :D

Re: Curry

I've found the only way to get a goodun is to make it myself, all the spices are freely available (probably more so than the UK) it's just that no-one seems to know how to put them together. Get a copy of pat chapman's curry bible and if you're feeling brave make a harsha tindaloo:curse::curse:
