Very sad. Massive sympathies to his family and to Abbott. Accident or no, poor lad has to live with that.

A tragic loss for cricket, Australia, and his family.

25 is far too young.

RIP, an freak accident.

I felt the same, a real lump in the throat kind of day.

RIP Phil and as others have said a special thought to Sean Abbott too.

Absolutely Polly, it amazes me that some can turn something as tragic into a tit for bloody tat yet again.

..... and the cricket resumes today in Australia ..... Dave Warner who was there with his mate when he passed away has scored and emotional century.

Also welcome back Sean Abbott who is playing and bowling for NSW today. Can you imagine the emotions going through this young fellow? He managed a bouncer in his first over.

Good on Warner and Abbott, shame about Clarke, that's not looking good for a busy summer ...

A mountain of Australian runs and Indian bowlers clueless away from home ... Normal service indeed.

Warner is an A-grade prick but the boy sure can bat

India are currently a very average test team and they don't really want to play the game - would much rather stick to T20 and ODIs
