For those who think its all about poor England batting, and nothing to do with good Aussie bowling, best take it up with the legend.

Significantly Flower has now come out and said he wants to continue in the job as he recognises the team he built is past it's sell by date and needs to be rebuilt around Root, Stokes etc.

You should know by now it is more palatable if it is entirely down to your own temporary lapse from greatness which will soon be restored.

By the press accounts England will be serving up some youthful changes tomorrow, and with a green top on the SCG, Jimmy Anderson might live another away test. Could be an interesting test. I'll be in the members drinking full strength beer and having a lunch time swim in the pool.

and media channels pundits were underrating the oz bowling attack, especially
Johnson. What upsets many as been the moments when wickets were GIVEN away
and not taken. Siddle, Harris, consistency of bowling line and length, was as good as
the Pollock and Mcgrath eras.

Its a late reply...but yes , not I and a few other English followers, we knew the press
and media channels pundits were underrating the oz bowling attack, especially
Johnson. What upsets many as been the moments when wickets were GIVEN away
and not taken. Siddle, Harris, consistency of bowling line and length, was as good as
the Pollock and Mcgrath eras.

Credit also needs to be given to the coaches and players for working out strategies to contain these batsmen eg Cook used to score a lot of runs by pushing to on side and when given width outside off - don't give him too many of these; keep it full and near and just outside off and he has usually obliged with a bowled, lbw or caught in slips. Root plays from the crease, doesn't use his feet much and plays last minute shots - they've contained him to the point where he gives up a tickle to keeper or slips and so on and so forth. Lehmann gets top marks for improving the team atmosphere, tactics and psychology of the group.

Pressure builds, mistakes are made; the errors aren't made in isolation but in the context of the difficulty of playing these guys at times, the match situation and the series situation.

coming from the bowler, Englands Batsman who were there to counter, this
pressure, were Carberry, Root, Prior, and from these 3, In 8 innings I cant remember an attacking shot, which they were out to.Pieterson , Bell, and even Bairstow shown
some attacking flair. Then fell to poor shot selection.
Lets get this straight, being out is not the Problem, but from experienced WC or even
would be future talent players, being out for under 25 on a regular basis, was poor.
I can except that that this series the aussis were top, it was how we lost.
In England the aussis when losing didnt cave in.
The players not the coaches should of sat down as a team, and maybe just maybe
discussed, who were the batsman numbers to attack the bowling, or when.
