If it's just to write up how you're doing, post photos and links and that sort of thing then either Blogger or Wordpress are your best bet. No knowledge of programming required - both function like online word processors.

I will PM you with a link to our family website. I did this using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and a tiny bit of my own JavaScripting....

BTW, it looks best above 1280x resolution...

1280x resolution means the size that your screen is set to by right-clicking on the desktop (in XP) and then choosing 'Properties'->'Settings'->'Screen Resolution'.

At this resolution the webpage will not need to be scrolled and generally looks better.

Just a thought for you

We have been logging screen res on our support site for customers (about 100 hits a day) Most common screen res is 1024*768 and then 800*600. Most new laptops / LCD monitors come with a default of 1024 * ??? depending on the screen size.

I would suggest 1280 is too high and you might want to bring it down to meet a bigger audience. (may not be relevent for a small family website)

What are you asking? Do you have a Domain name? Do you have a Hosting Service?

What I did was get myself a Domain Name, Austria have them on special for May and June for 4 Euros for the first year. I picked that up at http://www.eurodns.com/

A reasonable Hosting Service (and I checked out lots and this one had about the best service with the least hidden charges and fees) is
http://www.servage.net/page/hosting_features/

And that's how I went about doing this.

That's a very nice house on your website. Is that your house in Australia? Did you have it built? Where are you in Australia?

So many questions and so little time...
