Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?
The kiwis might have to stretch this out to 6 weeks full lockdown.
Interestingly I have hearing of large businesses in engineering having to feed "work from home staff" work in NZ and at the same time putting their Oz based staff on 4 day weeks. You can imagine the Oz based staff are not happy about having to sort out the survival of the NZ business. Thanks Jacinta.

I'm sure you amuse yourself by spelling her name incorrectly but you just look a bit foolish to everyone else.

Good luck with that. In my industry, they've been trying that since the 1990s - and it's still not being implemented with any degree of success. It can work if you embed some expats in their structure in order to try and get the output you need - but each expat costs at least $250k - 20 Indians basically. So there goes your cost saving!

You might buy her continual publicity stunts, but when it knocks 20% off the salary of Australians and the tax we all benefit from in trying times, the laugh is over.

WTF?
Spanish flu
Asian Flu
German Measles
Hong Kong flu
etc
It is universally accepted that this virus originated in the city of Wuhan, which is on the banks of the Yangtze River. Now my geography is not that great (definitely not my strongest subject at school) but I think you will find that this place is in Central-Eastern CHINA. I'm definitely having a dig at the pathetic and backward Chinese government because their f**kups and lies have led directly to the situation that the world is in today, but I am in no way shape or form being racist. I have posted within the rules of BE. Get over yourself darling - you may think you're BE's content cop but you blatantly ain't
There may indeed be a clown in Washington but the corrupt Beta-male Soy Boi in Ottawa is a bigger clown!!

The nationalistic , oppressive government in power in China certainly has its own agenda, that being to remain in power regardless , but may just as well call it American flu or Trump flu, for his mishandling and initial denial while playing the race card, while the country became the biggest infected population on earth, soon likely to have the biggest death rate.

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?
Queensland health authorities have named 13 COVID-19 hotspots in NSW, urging people to avoid them this long weekend.
Queenslanders are now required to self-quarantine for 14-days if they have travelled to one of these hotspots in NSW.
The direction applies from 12.01 am today until the end of the declared public health emergency, unless it is revoked or replaced.
These are the most affected areas:
Blacktown
Canterbury-Bankstown
Central Coast
Cumberland
Inner West
Ku-ring-gai
Northern Beaches
Randwick
Ryde
Sutherland Shire
Sydney
Waverley
Woollahra
It comes after Health Minister Steven Miles urged Queenslanders not to travel this Easter long weekend, telling them to check the hotspot areas if it's absolutely essential.
"I would urge you to check the areas but more importantly, I would urge you not to travel in the first place," Mr Miles said at a press conference.
There are currently 2822 cases of COVID-19 in NSW, accounting for more than a third of the national total.
So Queensland. Lets keep this simple. This really means lockdown for you if you have been to Sydney.

So putting wellness and potential life ahead of a bit of business inconvenience is in your book a publicity stunt? Somethings, although you'll find it next to impossible to understand, rise above financial gain.

Yep. Our CFO is recommending a global office cull and a total travel cull post Corona given clients are now comfortable with remote working. We have so much wasted floor space anyway and working from home was never an issue.
I was playing golf with a commercial real estate agent who business has shut up shop. I kindly advised him to start thinking about a new career now. I guess his saving grace might be the new turnover if he can find companies to all those pending vacant commercial spaces
Indians are largely useless. 5 Indian equals 1 Aussie as a general rule of thumb. Cheap costs.

Hardly brain science to see the difference. While names like Spanish flu have been adapted over time to be the accepted name, this virus has not been so deemed Chinese Disease/Virus or whatever else racially motivated would like to term it. But we know you can't help yourself. By the way, the Spanish flu was termed French flu, in Spain at the time and likely had origins far removed from both countries anyway.

If you think living on government support which will end in 6 months, the mental detriment unemployment gives, associated stresses, domestic violence, alcoholism, and all these wellness problems the economic costs brings, then you've taken it to a new low. Great to have your contribution as always. Thought you had left? Are you still stuck in Perth? Good luck getting out now.

Rule of thumb. 1 Aussie equals 5 Indians. Of course there are a few bright lights in the sub continent, but it's hard work finding them, then they leave for a dollar more an hour.

Happy Easter! Enjoying some hot cross buns and chocolate today. Our sons have converted one of the family rooms into a gym. I might have to check it out later

Singapore has come unstuck. While mandating a 2 week isolation for returning travellers they forgot returning migrant workers were living 12 to a dormitory. Whoops. They have now had to go in to total lockdown to get it under control.
