Just a few pix from the garden - I found out this spider is called the St Andrew's Cross Spider - how cool is that web?!
The photos of the bats were NOT taken in my garden though! |

A couple of years ago I was walking home from the pub on a hot humid night. I walked under a low hanging palm tree and next thing I knew, I couldn't see anything because there were bat wings around my face.

We have a water tank in our back garden covered in jasmine.
Seems to be a favourite hangout for St Andrew's Cross spiders....number of times I have walked into the web at night is amazing. They are cool spiders, but as I don't know how to post pics on here, I have not shared my photos! |
