Default Cooking ingredient question please

Does anyone know where in Brisbane that I can buy "creamed coconut"? I used to use it all the time in the UK but have given up on finding it here.
I have just started the Clean and Lean diet and it requires creamed coconut. I am trying to stick to the recipes so would really like to get hold of some.

Try your local Asian shop.I would be surprised if they didn't stock it.

Good idea, I have only ever looked in the mainstream supermarkets in the Asian section......thanks for that.
By the way, I see you started off in Limerick.....my OH's family are from Clarina and I am working with a girl from Boher. Small world.

It is really hard to find but as Irishbloo says try your local asian shops and look in the fridge rather than the shelves. It melts very quickly here.

I used to use that in the uk, but find I can sometimes substitute it for coconut cream.

I have a couple of curry recipes that call for creamed coconut and I have tried using coconut cream but it adds liquid without the intensity of flavour. You can find creamed coconut, you just have to do a bit of searching around.
