A sense of warped humour is becoming increasingly essential. That plus a corkscrew. Thanks for making me laugh.

Also the form and letter is confusing (I suppose that it does not help that we frontloaded) in that the letter refers to both of us in general but to me also specifically. I presume my wife will receive an individual notification??
Advice would be greatly appreciated.
Derek, in answer to your health undertaking question-the letter was addressed to me as I am the main applicant and then refers to the medical for the following person (highlighted in bold) being given a full medical clearance subject to the completion of the health undertaking. My husband signed the forms agreeing to contact them within 4 weeks of arrival, my name was not highlighted on this letter, does that mean no news is good news? Who knows with Dimia. Graylings comment refers to anyone given a health undertaking may only be given 6 months instead of the normal 12 months to validate their visa, it goes from the date of your pre-grant letter
and must be adhered to.

Sorry Gnut, we won't be going to the Sat night reunion, football takes priority,
July at last begins for us all, fingers crossed for news for us all.
Kind regards everyone

Hello Carol,
Had another look and another look etc etc at the letter and the forms folowing your comment. I have to say the letter and the forms are as clear as mud! I am pleased very pleased to receive something from DIMIA which shows something is happening out there, the waiting is very hard on the system.
I could not tell from the letter that my wife (the secondary applicant) is in the clear? It does not help that the mail was redirected from the old UK address where it had been sent in error (soul of tact, DIMIA might be reading this!) so we did not know whether a similar letter for my wife had gone astray or what. An email has been sent to Perth requesting clarification, but your comment about name in Bold etc strikes a chord. The form itself does not come over very clearly either. Dates of arrival etc none of which are particularly pertinant. Really the only part which is clear is the bit you sign!
Oh well and now to the Form 80 all new as is all the section and of course I have already obtained my PCC but not sent it off. Sigh.
This thread is supposed to be cheering us all up? So

It'll succeed if you have enough of these, chum.

Seriously, though, no they do not ask for a Health Undertaking from everyone. However there is nothing sinister about it if they do. Thay have worked out that prevention is cheaper than cure, that is all.

Another or four and you'll be very mellow!

Cheers

Well DIMIA have confirmed that the Health Undertaking letter covers us both and that I am the one required to sign the Health Undertaking. Just got to find out why now? Back to the Drs I think. The Dr said we were both ok with no problems after the meds. Have had treatment under Medicaire on one of our visits a couple of years ago (back pain) so wonder........... ?
Anyway the technicality is now resolved so its back to new paperwork (Form 80 etc) and waiting again for the next step.
Cheers to all, its nice to see some movement amongst us, gets the pulse racing!

Hi Lorraine, so glad you are having a good time with your family. Those times are so precious eh? Can imagine how frustrated you feel and that you just want to get that visa! New program year starts Saturday - hurray - now maybe we will all start to get some good news! Enjoy the family and this glorious English Summer weather. The time will go so fast for you and then you can start counting down the months til you join them in Oz. Have fun and best wishes, Linda

I have been directed to this thread the other day by Gnut (thanks Gnut)

As well as dealing with my own visa, I am also managing my parents CP 173 visa. Their acknowledgement was received 23rd Feb 06.

Their meds were posted off on the 22nd May and they have just received notification that Dad has been given full medical clearance subject to completion of a Health Undertaking up to 4 wks after arrival - he has to sign and return form 815.

Mum however, due to having TB in her 20's (she is now in her 70's) has to go back to the panel doc to arrange to see a chest specialist for an investigation & report for to establish her current status. Has anyone else come across a similar position? Do you reckon this will be a problem?

I've told my husband from day 1 that if my Mum doesn't get then were not going!

Cheers
Jane

Hi all parents,
Today received the official letter and forms from [quote for Gnut] (I am the officer responsible for processing this application and named) needed to finalise the visa. AOS, 2 form 80's and stat dec. Much to my surprise contacted me prior to return date for health undertaking doct. Anyone else received good news? Lets be hearing from you.
Jane, just follow their instruction re Mum, they have to make double sure all is well especially with TB even if 50 years prior, my hubby was given a health undertaking for scarring from having pneumonia over 30 years ago.
Kind regards to everyone,
Carol

Hi Carol,

Great news!! With regard to form 80, do you (or anyone else!) know if you have to wait to get one from POPC, or whether it can be downloaded. I know it is available on the immi web site.

Thanks!

Tracy.

Hi Carol, Fantastic news!! Do so hope we hear something soon too!! At least you have your meds out of the way - thinking that we should probably at least book an appointment within the next few weeks to save time in the long run - what do you think? Did you have all your communication by post?
Did you give them consent to contact you by e.mail on your application form or do they always send forms etc by post? Getting paranoid and so excited that now things are beginning to happen. How did your house sale go? We have an offer on our cottage and fingers crossed things will move on fairly smoothly. I am so excited for you both and look forward to hearing the progress from here to Oz. All the best, Linda

Just be glad you have the offer on your cottage Linda, I think thats going to be the hardest part for us, only one second viewing request so far, no offers, plenty of feedback including "I wish the cottage had never been extended-I would have preferred it how it was in 1820" Dear Oh Dear, some people!!!
Whether having our meds done early followed by the results meant we may have only 6 months to validate brought the early response from our CO I don't know, but you should hear anytime now. They allow plenty of time to get everything done needed to finalise your application and even though my application consented to using my e-mail address to respond to, everything was posted to me, even form 80 which you can download, I would advise waiting for them to send to you as Dimia sometimes changes the structure of forms especially around July 1st. You will have enough time while your AOS is being done to have your medicals especially if no worrying health issues, that was my only reason for going early.

Many congratulations on your grandson-great news and what better reason to get to Oz.
Keep the thread going with any updates, if anyone can offer me advice on making a statutory declaration or maybe alert me to any previous threads on the subject I would appreciate the help.
Kind regards,
Carol
