Re: for the contributory parents who had thread closed
hi everyone,
i had a bit of excitement this afternoon when i got home and saw a letter from australian government. i thought here we go hopefully the request for the medicals. but silly me, if i had looked at the envelope closely before ripping it open i would have seen it was from the transport department. it was import approval for hubby's motorbike. good news but i thought we was going to be really celebrating for a minute there!
never mind it as to happen soon i am like a demented person now waiting for the post each day!
it seems ages since chatting to anyone here so lets have some light hearted banter to pass the time. regards to you all.

hi jane,
i have been reading your posts avidly waiting for your parents to get theirs as you know.
i will be that excited for you when it finally happens. it is really hard this is the first time ever that hubby and i have been apart from both of our children at xmas. the two grand-daughters celebrate their birthdays at the beginning of january so we will be missing those as well. our grandson celebrated his birthdy in september and that now seems an age away! it should get easier shouldn't it? logically the longer we are waiting the nearer it as to be to getting, but ,it really does take over ever single moment of your thoughts doesn't it?
you must be going through so many emotions at the moment. 2007 is the year for all of us that is what we must hold on to and look forward to i think.
fingers and toes crossed as i type which as you can imagine makes it a little hard to do! regards. lorraine

A little more news from me.
My AOS had the interview on the 30th November and my remaining documentation Form 80's etc, confirmation of sponsor settlement in Australia was delivered to Perth on Friday 8th December.
My AOS received a letter this morning from Centrelink requesting the bond deposit!!
So that will be next week and then await the request for second visa payment, probably after Xmas now. It will be a year on the 19th December. So patience everyone, your turn will come eventually!
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all waiting and of course recently successful Contibutory Parents.
Next Xmas will be with the Family, cant wait!!

Congratulations, a great Xmas present for you, and how exciting. John and I had our medicals on Thursday but need specialist reports so off to get them next week, a little disappointed but keeping fingers crossed the reports will be enough.
Have a wonderfull Xmas and a truly Happy New Year.

what specialist reports do you need linda? this is one of my main worries, that either mum or dad will need further medicals. hope this question is not too intrusive

Requested interview with CentreLink + AOS 07/12/2006 ( we have got til 16/02/2006 to be passed by them, although I suggest doing this ASAP as it has been a nightmare )
So all in all I reckon if you do everything as fast as poss you will need $14 k ready by 10 month and 2nd VAC by 11 months after app but could strech out to 13 months if you needed to
Hope this helps

We checked our all possible things before the outlaws took the plunge and came out on a years visa we check with all the relative "experts" which included CentreLink when myself and my SIL on a separate occasion talk to them we explain that we may be $3k short on the taxable income front and they said it would;d not be a problem as they could prove that they had shares and a investment prop in the city , anyway SIL and BIL went for the interview with all bits and piece only to be told that you had to meet the taxable income exactly no other asset would count as this is a bonded visa as you can image we felt really gutted when SIL told us on the phone as I had checked all this out before on a number of occasion and I always make sure I cover all bases.......
So just be careful as it happens we had people lining up to help so we think ( should find out Monday) we are covered
if you need and specifics figures and stuff feel free to PM me

An update on M&D visa..... my sister called and emailed the CO to confirm that he had the form 80 etc and got a reply saying that the CO is now off on annual leave until the 15/01/07 :scared: so it looks as if our plans to leave at the end of Jan 07 won't come to fruition. Who says that the temp visa gets processed quicker the the permanent one???
My sister is going to call the other person mentioned on the email for urgent queries and get an update.
I really want my parents to leave at the same time as us so I may have to start looking into them getting a year visa and them making the trip to NZ to validate. If any of you guys have any info on how to go about this or advice for me, feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance.
Jane
