commuting chaos!

Is the commuter traffic as bad in Aus as it is in the UK? I live a 10 min drive from work. A few years ago this lengthened to 30 mins, and now is up to 60-100 mins! B****y irritating and chaotic! Do I look forward to the same when I come over?!!
