Re: Cockroaches
The one thing that we found really got rid of the little feckers was the Mortein units that send out a puff of insect killer every 12 minutes. We still found dead ones occasionally but better that than the heart failure resulting from one tearing out from under the couch between your feet in the middle of Downton Abbey! ; )
Honestly though, we tried baits, raid, spraying all the doors & windows- nothing worked. They make an odour free unit refill now which is also 97% natural so there's no smell or residue. Oddly in our new place we've seen one live and one dead roach in 12 months, that'll be all the lovely big spiders outside, keeping them at bay : ) |
Re: Cockroaches
Was chatting to a bloke today who does professional pest control and he confirmed the smaller German roaches are by far the worst to get rid of.
One of their favourite nesting places in the home is on the back of curtains between the material gathers or crevices of the hook tape. |

I feel the need to take down all my curtains and give them a thorough wash.
Not sure about the curtains thing. I find they love electrics for breeding. For example if you have a Tbox type thing and you lift it up you can see them scatter, they love the warmth, also love being under kettles and in the workings of an oven or fridge, this is how they get moved around from home to home. I would think these are more likely than curtains and they are disturbed all the time. |

To be honest of you have the German Cockies then you aren't going to get rid of them for good. You are better off seeing the big ones than those small ones.
