Clive Palmer
I had no views on the man until of late, when The Australian has basically made a mockery out of him.
Is he a buffoon. If he is, how has he become so successful?
(This situation about how he has turned his resort into a tribute to him is alarming - as is the staff dissatisfaction. His claiming the use of 'Professor' is just oafish).

Care of Wikipedia
Palmer purchased the Gold Coast United football club in 2008 to improve his profile in China. In October 2009, he made a decision to cap attendances of Gold Coast United home games at Skilled Park stadium to 5,000, in a bid to save money. After widespread backlash and only 2616 fans attending the next home game, the idea was scrapped after the intervention of Football Federation Australia.

Another one of Williamstown's finest and it must be something in the water!
"Palmer was born in Melbourne, Victoria, on 26 March 1954 where his family lived in Williamstown".
He seems like an eccentric and all that but a very rich one to boot.
He was in Williamstown last week on a nostalgia visit FWIW.

Re: Clive Palmer
I really dislike him for what he did with Gold Coast Utd and the A league.
Tried to stamp his own mark, and play behind closed doors, deliberately went out of his way to paint and make football look in a bad light after a dispute over gate receipts at the Gold Coast Stadium.
The exact opposite approach of Newcastles Tinkler... who was all inclusive and tried his hardest to promote the team for social reasons... I think Tinkler fancied himself as a sporting philanthropist.

I just wanna say that people who criticise other posters by belittling there spelling and grammar on forum's are rediculous. Sure, they obviously have went to a good school but no need to promote themselves as the suppository of good spelling and grammar. Their is no need for this behaviour.

Mind, at least he ran himself, rather than buying up Tony Abbott so she could get a nice tax break.
