my son has 6 mates over from the UK, they started heading up to Exmouth on Sunday to do some diving, luckily the camper van they bought broke down at Lancelin and they're stuck there till tomorrow...

At 10.15pm today, people in or near the communities of Karratha, Dampier, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson, Whim Creek, Nanutarra and Pannawonica are on Red Alert until further notice.
A Red Alert means there is a significant risk that destructive winds will occur in your area soon and you should move immediately to shelter.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised at 10pm WST today that SEVERE TROPICAL CYCLONE CLARE was located by radar about 40 kilometres west northwest of Karratha and 20 kilometres west northwest of Dampier and 180 kilometres northeast of Onslow moving south southwest at 14 kilometres per hour over the past 6 hours.
Residents of Karratha and Dampier are warned of the potential of a very dangerous storm tide as the cyclone crosses the coast. Tides may rise significantly above the normal high tide mark with very dangerous flooding and damaging waves."

I built 4 houses up there in Onslow last year. Guess Im going to have to rebuild them now. Told everyone not to lean on them in case they fall over.
