Please can anyone tell me Does when your visa was granted have any relavance on weather you have to take your citizenship test or not. I thought that we will have to take our test when we have been here for two years, but oh thought we might not have to .( our visa was granted march 2007)

Hi I think the new rules came into force July 2007, prior to that date its 2 yrs after its 4 .. so for you its 2 yrs

Nope - you have to take the test it I'm afraid. The only exemption was applications for citizenship (nothing to do with your residence or visa date) lodged before the 1st October 2007.

You still have the 2 years residence requirement instead of 4 so thats a plus.

But this is only allowed until the 1st July 2010 and then your application is subject to the new acts rules of 4 years etc. So make sure you apply before then.
