Daughter has just had a birthday package from England... full of proper Dairy milk bars, malteasers and minsterals...

That's because the maunfacturers are using more sugar, less cocoa. Cocoa is the satisfactual craving ingredient and more expensive than sugar. Go for the 70% + cocoa type bars (Lindt's a favourite of mine when on specia)l. You get your chocolate hit quicker and feel more 'satisfied' ;)

Can't believe the price of chocolate in Australia, and cakes for that matter. Nobody prepared me for this. It could have been a deciding factor in the decision to move :ohmy:

Well, a mars bar or snicker at home would cost 40p max. At our local bakery you could get a custard tart for under £1. Croissants at the bakery here are $2 EACH. In the UK they are that much for a packet of 4 or 5.
