I can tell you a fairly humourous story about knob cheese
when i was a student nurse, some of the irish girls in our set were very into trying out the local delicatessent (we were at mount vernon hospital in northwood - v.posh area - elton johns estate was nearby).
So one of the guys, Richard, when she asked if anyone wanted owt fetching, said ''yeah, ask if they stock helmet cheese....if they do, i'll have 1/2lb"
so of she trotted, returning a couple of hours later looking very puzzled.
she'd ask the bloke behind the counter for this helmet cheese, and he just peed himself laughing....
she never understood why we also peed ourselves laughing.....Rich never did explain it to her!
