Question chinese curry sauce

Can anyone out there please tell me where i can get a half decent curry sauce in Australia. Remember going to the local chinese restaurant on Friday nights on the way home from the pub? Remember the brilliant beef curry/fried rice that tasted so good? Surely someone, somewhere, knows if anything that good is available here? Help.

Not sure of the answer, but this is the Welcome forum and we don't know where you live in Aus to be able to advise

Tell us where you live Nev and I'll move this to the right place in the barbie forum, and you might get your curry sauce sorted afterall

He probably means that Chinese curry sauce you get in the chippies over here. Very popular it is too, chips and curry sauce, it's very mild and very yummy

I'm almost sure I've seen it in tins in the supermarket [woolies or coles] in the asian section - maybe take a look and do a taste test until you find what you're looking for

Coles usually are best for Pommy stuff, and I think it depends what area you live in too?? I reckon Bondi Coles if they have one would be the go!!

There is a little English type section - I have bought over the years (at great expense) stuff like Colemans mint sauce, Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup and so on, this was in Campbelltown NSW. You can sometimes find that Homepride curry cook in sauce too.

As far as I can tell, all it was was Bisto with added curry powder. Make sure you roast the curry powder first.

I know this is going to sound bizarre, and perhaps a bit out there, but ..

I've found our chinese takeaway do really lovely chinese curries.

I know, I know, but hey, if you think outside the box..

It's called Golden Curry Sauce and you'll find it in Asian supermarkets. It's the stuff they put on chips when you have chips and curry sauce.
