Cat Pee on the Carpet ...
... anyone got any tips for removal of odour above and beyond replacing the carpet? The wife's bloody cat just pissed under the bed.
On a separate note, when prospective buyers look at that room of the house we will be able to categorically state that there *is* room to swing a cat in there. |

He advised me to use soap powder as it has enzymes in it that will break down the wee, then wipe over the top with methylated spirit. I did it with soap powder then water and vinegar and it did the trick. Never ever use bleach as there is ammonia in it, theres ammonia in cat wee too so they're more likely to wet there again. Hope this helps. Catherine xxx |

Re: Cat Pee on the Carpet ...
Hi
I second the soap powder! But make sure it's biological soap powder otherwise it does not have the enzymes in it. I have also discovered Bicarb of Soda and vinegar recently - they are great for getting rid of smells. Make sure it's white vinegar though!!!! Good luck - it's horrid when cats do that!! Rudi |

Re: Cat Pee on the Carpet ...
Biological washing powder and surgical spirit mixed in equal parts, in warm water. You may have to do it a couple of times but it works and it puts them off going to the area again. :)
