Car Hire

Hey All

Just wondering if any of you guys have ever used these for car hire. Seems like a good price and no excess and unlimited mileage would like to hear some feed back.

Thanks Paddy:thumbup:

Re: Car Hire

I had a quick look at them, but almost thought it was wrong, as it said:

Over 850 locations in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Madeira, Malta, Croatia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Greece.
However, I followed it through, and found that for Brisbane they only quote cars available with Red Spot Rentals http://www.redspotrentals.com.au/v2/

They even quote for 21 year olds and provisional licence holders.

It looks OK, and can't find much bad about them.

I did see that the Victorian Consumer affairs had discussion with them, but all that was said was "We finalised discussions with Red Spot Car Rentals this year, which subsequently revised its Contracts".

hey paddy

See if you were coming to Perth you wouldn't need to hire a car as you could have borrowed one of ours

Re: Car Hire

Presumably they are just brokers/middlemen, rather than having offices in all these places - so the quality of the hire will depend on the local company. Not that that's anything to get too freaked out about.

That's a good one. I hired a car from them in the past, and they were very good.

Also known as Bayswater Car Rental :)

I work for REDSPOT at Perth airport! We Australia wide and do ALL INCLUSIVE prices so you get ZERO DAMAGE LIABILITY AND UNLIMITED KMS when you book direct with us. If you book through economycarhire, they often have an excess of over $3000!

Redspot do appear to be OK then. I'll have to add them to my nationwide list.

Can you then explain the negative entries then on productreview.com.au ?

Also, I couldn't find anywhere on your website where it quotes the makes/types of cars available. There were some links, but none of them worked.

Re: Car Hire

I just looked at redspot

Traveller Class Small - Nissan Tiida or similar $29
Traveller Class Medium - Holden Epica or similar $37
Traveller Class Large - Mitsubishi 380 or similar $40
SUV Sports Utility Vehicle - Nissan Murano or similar $65
all basic price plus fees..

I am just wondering if those 4? that had excess problems booked via economycarhire ?

You can phone us direct at Perth airport for Perth rentals and you sometimes get a cheaper price, esp if there are lots of cars avaliable(but, ssshh!.....i didnt tell you all that!)

Prices start from $78 per day for a Nissan Tiida, the longer you have it, the cheaper it is obviously. Some of you might think that this is expensive but what you have to remember is that it is All Inclusive! Hertz, Avis Budget, Thrifty etc etc will give you just the cheap basic rate then when you come to pay, they add on alot more! And their base rates ALWAYS include a excess!

RedSpot INCLUDES:
Unlimited KMS
Zero Damage Liability
Additional drivers (1)
airport taxes & fees

Also, forgot to mention that there is a ECONOMY rate if you book direct on www.redspotcar.com, that is cheaper but this does have an excess (usually either $385 or $770)
