Can't get the staff

A rare Bermudashorts instigated thread!

So I ordered some stuff from Amazon about ten days ago and on Friday I thought this is taking quite a long time so checked my order status. It said the items had been delivered and indeed delivered on a day when I had been at home the entire day.

So I put in my "where's my stuff" query and got a very speedy response that they would look into it. I have just received an email following the conclusion of their full and thorough investigations.

Apparently the parcel, which was being delivered to my home, was safely left "with the receptionist" and I have a helpful tip to check with my receptionist.

Damn that home receptionist nicking off with my stuff. You just can't get the staff.

Did you do a live chat with Amazon customer service? last time I had an issue with them, the live chat was amazing and they sorted the mess out!

I'd fire that receptionist too. They sound shady :sneaky:

Live chat? Blimey I had enough trouble finding a contact mechanism at all, kept being sent round in loops to "track my delivery" which I already knew said it had been delivered.

Anyway sent Mr BS on a mission this afternoon to knock on every door in the village to see if they received it - there are only 125 homes in the village we are very rural. He found it (with permission) dumped in a dog kennel in a house about 1km away.

Maybe its only available here in the US, but they do offer it!

This just raises more questions. Does your receptionist live in a Kennel and/or do you employ a canine as your receptionist? (and if so, who trained it?)

Either way, glad you found the parcel!

.... For those in Australia. :p

Anyhow, how many kennels did your husband have to search in before he found it?

It is the only general chat area I read.

I don't know how many dog kennels he checked but he was gone about an hour. He came across a house with a sign that said "leave parcels in dog kennel" so he knocked on that door and they found it in there.

No but thinking of hiring out my dog kennel as a parcel storage / collection point. It doesn't get any other use anyway. I bought it for my older cat who refused to come inside for a while when I got a new kitten he hated.

There is a very loving canine welcoming committee but I hesitate to call it a receptionist. The pug is pretty much untrainable. He will sit for a millisecond if he thinks he will get a morsel of food out of it. That is it. Certainly I expect a bit more from my receptionists.

What is his WPM count though? Sounds like he won't need coffee of a morning to send out a bucket load of emails :p (maybe a treat per XX amount of mails sent?).

Well his WPM count is not too bad. The trouble is he only knows a few words, these are: Alfie, Alf, Alfred, dinner, breakfast, treat, dentastick, carrot, toy, sit, down, off, no, daddy and Rupert.
