Good idea actually - just put them in the Q box... we had a Q box.. stuff we weren't sure on... it all came in fine and dandy! (que Forest Gump! lol!)

I don't think that they will, my sister sent me a handmade birthday card last year that had straw on the front, I received a letter from Aqis (and a photocopy of my birthday card) telling me that it would have to go for fumigation (or whatever) and I could have it in 6 weeks at a cost of $60 or they could just destroy it.

We once had been given a small wicker basket decorated with straw and dried flowers. It had been made and given to us by a very young female relative. We felt the right thing would be to bring it with us so that we could honestly say it had been confiscated. We declared it on entry, it was taken away for a brief inspection then returned to us and we were told it was OK.

..... and they destroyed one of Pollys hats that had an obviously fake flower on it...different inspectors = different interpretations of the rules...

Judging from most of the comments it's probably best you find a new home for them. $60.00 for fumigating a card is outrageous. The bill for two seagrass baskets well that could be anything.
