Calling all Queenslanders

Hi,

This is my first post on BExP, so please take it easy on me.

I need some major help. I am trying to immigrate to hopefully Perth or Canberra with the OH (Dentist) and two young kids 8 & 5. Based on the 176 if I can find the family member this will assist our move.

I have seen how helpful the people of B Ex Pats can be so please any advice in tracing my relative down would help me and my ageing father greatly as he has not spoken to his brother (John originally from Belfast went to Oz late 70's early 80's) in over 5 years now.

Last Known Address for John (he must be late 50's early 60's) was
c/o Post Office Black Snake Rd, Kilkivan QLD 4600, Australia back 2002 - 2003

Thanks again for any assistance

Regards
Madogs

I've been to Kilkivan and it is a very small place, the sort of place where everyone knows everyone (litterally). I would suggest looking up the number of the Post Office in your C/O address and calling them as the chances are they will know exactly who he is. There probably wouldn't be too many John's with a Northern Irish accent in Kilkivan except your uncle!

I would certainly hope that the post office would not give out this John's address (if they know who he is). How do they, or we, know who the person is asking for it? For all they know he could be a debt collector, or a stalker.

They don't have to give out his address, they just have to tell him to call back.

You're so right, Kilkivan is minute. We drive through there often. Should be easy enough to leave a message with a local shop for them to pass your details on if the guy is still there.

Are you joking? Over here its so laid back like that - you can get information on anyone if you try even just a little :) I reckon the post office will give his number and what days he comes in to post letters so you know hes not at home

If you ask them nicely enough they'll probably even keep him busy long enough to clean his house out

Hi Guys and Girls thankyou for all the help and Ideas that you are passing on.

If anyone that knows this Post office I know that my uncle was going out with a local girl that owned a farm with horses.

Dorothy I fully understand where your coming from I live in Northern Ireland and believe me security is one thing I know about.

So my plea would be that if anyone from this area could even leave a note for the Post Master / Post Mistress making them aware that a mad Irish man is trying to trace his uncle John who lived in this area quite a number of years ago now ( whose was mad on cars) and could they if they know where he is to pass a note to him to get him to come on here to BExP and look for this Thread

Calling all queenslanders.

Guys and girls you really do not how much I appreciate all your help with this.

Again thanks

Cheers Madog:thumbsup::beer::beer::thumbsup:

Just bearing in mind that Kilkivan is about a 3ish hour drive from Bribane, it's not the sort of place you would go through very frequently

But here's the number for that postoffice +61 7 5484 1147
I know there is also a BP Garage there, which you should try if you get no luck at the PO. BP is +61 7 5484 1192
