Hallaleuah

I'm back on it.... Apparently Marg and other processed foods stop your liver working properly. I've been reading a lot about this since I sat through "The Diet solution" Ad and I like what I'm seeing.

PS: Spelt and Sprouted grain bread seems to be doing the trick on my waist size. Even with Butter.

BTW I never subscribed to the diet solution.... just did lots of reading.

Hurray...someone else reading Stephan's blog too.

Margarine is just plain nasty. And what gets me is that there is an ad on Foxtel right now put out by the Australian Heart Foundation telling parents that by giving kids butter, they are clogging their arteries, so give your kids margarine instead. There's a shot of some guy standing in front of a table of butter, saying, "this is how much they get in a year..." It's sad really. Like recently invented pseudo food (margarine) is better...no way.

I remember readin somewhere that marg is basically plastic with something added to make it more pliable....never touch the stuff and only use butter when i'm baking, the kids don't eat marge either, they use low fat mayo instead or if they fancy a change just fruity jam.

I don't know about Australia, but here in the U.K most margarines seem to be called something along the lines of "I can't believe you think this is butter"

Interesting that the word spread is used to disguise what the rest of the world calls margarine. Except when it comes to winning awards like Flora Pro Active in the UK... anyway its the spreads i'm specifically talking about. Like Benecol and Flora and Flora Pro Active.

Heres Unilever happily letting Flora Pro Active win an award as the best Margarine in the UK in 2009.

http://www.unilever.co.uk/brands/foodbrands/Flora.aspx

Flora was voted the most trusted margarine/butter in the UK in the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey in 2009.
