British "summer"

Well folks, it's official - it has not rained this much in a 3-month period as it has this summer since 1766! Methinks even Melbourne's winter, which is supposed to be so awful, is better than the British summer this year...

Ok but you had a nice April. Feel like I have been in Winter for ages now. Arrived in March to WA. Weather ok but the past 3/4 weeks it feels like it hasn't stopped raining to!!!

Melbourne's winter is better than people who don't live in or have never been to Melbourne make out.

17 degrees and sun the last 2 days.

Somehow i can't see Melbourne's weather being any worse than the UK. Ever.

The British summer stinks! 21c is quite hot in UK, bloody freezing in OZ.

Its funny cause its soooo cold in the house over here during the winter even though the temp outside is much better than the UK. No so well insulated and you acclimatise. We had the coldest day in 20+ years last week and I even had to scrape the windows of ice whilst muttering obsenties under my breathe about moving this far to get away from it, and why when you are late leaving.......

Living here in Melbourne 5 years now.
After spending 34 years of my life in Ireland before we emigrated here I can say hand on my heart that I would prefer 2 months of Winter and 10 of 'Summer' here over 2 months of 'Summer' and 10 months of Winter back in Ireland any day !!!
