British Expats

Re: British Expats
Here - you'll fit in if you drive like a twat, wear long thick white socks with flip flops, wear furry boots and knitted hats in the summer, wear lumberjack shirts, have long goatie beards, suck on straw and play the banjo at the same time, own a dog and let it bark all day and night whilst threating the neighbours, and listen to dodgy 80's music.

Barbecues are pretty boring in my opinion. Standing around drinking foul beer and pretending to be interested in Bazza's lengthy account of the last AFL game.

You need to come to one of mine and meet my Aussie friends. We eat Rib fillet, drink fantastic wine and the conversation is never dull.

Restaurants although standards vary ,do it better for us. A few friends,in surroundings having a slight degree of intimacy and a steady flow of conversation. Socially though find it very wanting and expect it will be a very important consideration to the reasons for finally bailing out.

.....aye, it was horrible, really horrible...there's honestly nothing like it here, I had forgotten how awful it is! Just page after page of demonising some group in society who isn't white with 2 kids and lives in Guildford! Teenagers, muslims, bloody foreigners etc etc etc. Plenty of people on this site clearly lap it up though!
