British cyclcists 'on top' because of an Aussie (apparently)
They can't help themselves, can they?
"The British have taken over as the dominant nation on spokes, much of that due to the man in charge of the team, Australian Shane Sutton, a knockabout bloke from the NSW bush."
They really are sore losers.

"We Australians have got a lot of heart," Bayley said. "But we don't have the funding of the British.
"They have the Australian sports scientist who was ours (Grant White), they've got a German sprint coach who was one of the most tactical riders ever (Jan van Eiden).
"Basically they can buy whatever they want whenever they want."
Smacks of sour grapes too.....if the British are finally investing heavily in sport, they are only doing what the Aussies have been doing for years!

And it looks as if the government are also getting in on the blame act. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...19/2339636.htm
Here's looking forward to many months of ribbing if we win third place at the close of the games!
Pffft!

The games aren't even over yet.
A very, very sad quality.

This about sums up the Australia attitude to sport. When they win, they take credit for everything, when they loose, they try and claim any credit that they can. Very sore loosers in my book.
I was very disappointed yesterday when GB took out the gold (and world record) in one of the cycling events. Australian TV didnt even cover the medal presentation but they found time to show the 4 females winning in the swimming (again).
Go GB, you are doing just great, show them aussies what it is all about.

Does anybody remember the build up to the Sydney Olympics. Australia searched the world for the best coaches including eastern block coaches who they had called cheats in the past. They also got as many athletes as they could from other countries to represent them in events they were weak at and gave them ozy citizenship.
They have similar sportsmanship values as the country they look up too, the good old USA.

"Mate, I know it's not going to help your story, but I'm just here to see good sport," Waugh said yesterday. "They've prepared really well, put a lot of money and effort in.

I'd like to think this article was 'tongue in cheek' but if not it helps to reinforce many people's view that when it comes to sport, Aussies are a load of arrogant, sore-losing w@nkers

I can't believe Waugh would be so gracious. This is a revelation!!!

That's another reason why I think that aspects of this article are fictitious and serve only to reinforce the point that the author is trying to make (which you stated so eloquently in one of your previous posts )
