Brisbane Open House 2012 - Do NOT miss it
If you are in Brisbane pencil (or press) Saturday 6th October into your diaries.
Brisbane Open House is on again and we really enjoyed it last year. A variety of public and private historic and modern buildings and institutions open their doors for one day only for you to have a peek at what goes on.
If you are the nosey type like me it's great !!
Here's a shot from last year of the the special Aboriginal court in the Brisbane Magistrates court that uses collaborative Aboriginal elder and western justice combined:

And my eldest taking his moment in the chair of the standard courtroom to yell out GUILTY to the tour guide

I also got to spend an interesting time with the warm and congenial Grand Master of the Masons and family in the Queensland Grand Lodge...he almost recruited me until he found out I was an atheist
The City Hall is open for the day which is currently undergoing huge renovation and restoration. From the photos I've seen it's going to be fantastic.
I recommend you plan ahead as there are so many things to see and only short period to race around. Here's the list of buildings:
