hI

I want to bring back chocolates bars and crisps for the children as i am in the UK how do folk manage to keep them from melting ...sorry if it sounds a stupid question thanks guys

I wouldnt worry. I brought chocolate and crisps back and the chocolate has been fine. Crisps got a bit bashed mind you. I would wrap the chocolate though, just in case;)

Cadbury in the UK have used a synchrotron to determine how to make chocolate that melts at 33.8C (polymorph 5). So as long as you don't take the chocolate through anywhere hotter than that it should remain solid.

But it's worth sticking it in the fridge after arrival. :thumbup:

I bring so much back every time that I write a list so I don't forget anything I have with me. Everything has been fine so far but you can see the look on the AQIS guy's face....."Oh lord, ANOTHER pom with a pile of food!"

yes but they hav prob never tasted lovely walkers cheese and onion or twiglets, havin our first trip bac in sep only taken us 7yrs !!!! cant wait to fill my suitcase ,

Only thing I ever had a problem with was those Flying Saucers sweets - the ones filled with sherbet. They showed up as white powder and the guy wanted to look at them - I offered him one, but he was too wary to try one although he let them in once he'd seen what they were. Twiglets and Walkers are regular items for them, probably won't bat an eyelid :)

oooo thats funny those flyin sauscers but u can understand .

i cant believe how dumb i was on our arrival 7yr ago but in my hand luggage [declared] i had a big jar of my lovely homemade pickled eggs !!!!! for a friend thought they would of been ok as pickled but no off they went in bin ,

And probably would not give a shit what it tastes like , you are just another immo importing suspect food products, just like all the Koreans who try and bring in Dog meat .........;)mm
