Default Booze.... just to let you know.

Just got mine, so its safe to tell people. Pretty good quaffing wine on super super special at Dan Murphys at present. 1.99 per bottle or 23.80 Aud per case.... Clear skins South Aussie Chardonnay and South Aussie Cab Merlot. I've had them before at the full price of 4.99 and they are drinkable.... better than casks

Just got back with one slab of Vic less than 31.00 bucks...... One slab of Becks 39.00 bucks.... and one case each of the above wines.

Try Safeway up North where there are no Dan Murphy's as it's the same buying group.

Ok anyone got any other booze specials.?

I'll crack one bottle each of the wines in the next couple of days, and if they are the same as I've had before.... I'll be buying more cases.

That's very public-spirited of you, mate. We'll be over as quickly as public transport will carry us. That should give you a chance to get everything (apart from the red) chilled nicely!

Hmm... just noticed I'm posting as Thribble. Looks like someone's been using my computer!

Someone told me spirits are quite pricy in Oz and worth buying in Singapore on way over ... is that true and can anyone remind me of the allowance?

Hubby and I are partial to a nice Gin and Tonic and maybe all our guests can bring us some Bombay over! Apparently Bacardi is about £6 a litre in Singapore Airport.

Thanks all you experts!

3 litres each, if I remember rightly. They don't specify on strength. The airport staff will be able to tell you at Singapore though...

I usually buy my wine by the case at Grays online:

http://www.graysonline.com.au/

Register, pay by card, pay $10 for delivery. There is charge for card payment but minimal.

Paid $40 for 12 bottles of excellent Margaret river red the other week.

You'd be silly not to.

Thats a very good tip Ipom. I'd forgotten about the online option, and Grays apparently is the best way to go.

Re the Barcardi, I think I'm correct in Saying, Its about 30 dollars for 750 ml bottle here.

Yes. Definitely cheaper. Personally I'm allergic to wine, but the missus and extended family here all swear by cleanskins (unlabelled bin-end booze bought dirt cheap).
