Bicycles in Australia
Does anyone know if this is a good deal (relative to Australian prices)?

It doesn't look that cheap, well not cheap enough to buy and ship.

I would have waited and saved myself the hassle of shipping it later on but he's outgrown the one that he had and is now nearly as tall as me so I couldn't wait any longer. But having bought it I can see that it's a great bike. I want one, just mulling over the need/want/cost/quality considerations. My bike is a bit crummy but I can make do for now I suppose... |

Re: Bicycles in Australia
Canberra is a good place for bikes - we have some very good bike shops in the Civic area especially. I guess if you are sending a container it would be easy enough to ship one over but if you have to send it separately then I would have thought wait and buy one here. That looks to be a reasonable price for a mountain bike, given the current rate of exchange.

I'm very tempted to buy. And the 50% off Raleigh bikes deal ends today. |

Go & buy one, you know you want to!:D
The "need" consideration won the day in the end. Besides, I figured that if I replaced mine, my wife would also want a new one and then it would have left my younger son as the odd one out. So I would have been compelled to buy him a new one too. Total cost for all four of us with accessories coming up to close on £1000. |
