Default Besides London, which Town/City in the UK would be most likely to have job vacancy

Just wondered if any part of the UK was fairing better than others. I personally would have thought the answer to my Question would have been somewhere like Milton Keynes, but others may have more informed answers. Not sure if in the current climate anywhere is likely to be noticeably better for jobs than anywhere else.

Edit Doh should be in the Barbie !

What kind of job ? I thnk it really depends on what the person would be looking to do.

My no-hoper niece who has been asked to leave one school during her A-Levels (not completed and re-sat first year twice and still failed) and lasted at the second school 2 weeks therefore a job was her only option. She went to two agencies on Wednesday and left with 2 job offers doing office work and has another interview today.

Also trades are very busy here in this area at the moment.

We are about 20 miles from Reading.

M4 corridor - Newbury, Reading area. I was there in July and speaking to friends who say it is still doing okay - although not great.

All of my ex-colleagues in the SE are working - mainly on rail and olympics projects but these are starting to dry up and won't be replaced. Some have not had a pay rise in 3 years whilst one of the guys is on over GBP500 a day.

Dunno what it is you would want to be working at but there seems to be a good bit of work around Cambridge at the moment.
