Smile Beer Beer Beer... Healthy Beer???

Beer Beer Beer... Healthy Beer???

Being British must admit to having an odd beer or two, so even better if it can be maybe slightly healthier for you.

It seems that the latest craze for low carb or low alcohol (that some expat members have already converted to including yours truly) is catching on big style.

The Pure Blonde is a nice beer too. Normally when they make something 'better for you', it ends up 'tasting like shit'

At the end of the day brewing beer turns sugar to alcohol and when your body digests it it turns it back to sugar so describing it as low carb is only on the way in not what it becomes inside . So drink beer like it is meant to be - feel guilty but enjoy it!

Ah! but... the low carb stuff has less sugar left in the first place so less to turn back into sugar.

It's still not squeaky clean beer and you still need to regulate the intake but tad more healthy than the super fulled stuff. We had some 12% stuff the other month dread to think what a few years worth of that would do to you... are the Belgium's all fat?

Low alcohol content is the other option and must say I'm not really bothered if it is 5% or 2% as long as it tastes nice.

Well did think of the Super Dry but the other day in the bottle shop it was more expensive than Pure Blonde and for a smaller bottle. Think Pure Blonde is 375mls and the Super Dry is 330mls. Both to precious to waste on rinsing.

I have never understood the point of "Extra Dry" beer. I would rather drink "Extra Wet"

Another plus for beer is that it has no fat and no cholesterol in it...

I have heard of people with high cholesterol that would have died from a heart attack years earlier if it wasn't for their drink problem - the booze thinning their blood. They die from sclerosis of the liver etc eventually of course but it buys them 10 years .

Suppose it's like dry wine a matter of taste... as long as it's nice beer.
