I suppose the way I am thinking is,I neede a new start and what a new start its going to be.Its going to be so hard,but I know my life will be so much happier in Australia.

From memory you only got stick from one person, and it might have been because of your "lighthearted" title about the girlfriend bit - no idea really.

Good luck to anyone who has to leave children behind for whatever reason, must be one of the shittiest feelings but everyone has to do what's right for them.
